What We Believe

We believe in high quality, good value support wherever we provide it. The key principles of ‘Valuing People’ – rights, independence, choice and social inclusion – are central to all we do.

We believe all individuals have a right to:

  • Be valued members of the local community and have full rights and responsibilities of citizenship.

  • Live as independently as possible, with appropriate support tailored around their needs and wishes.

  • Make informed decisions about all aspects of their lives; this includes both day to day choices and larger life decisions.

  • Develop valued relationships with family and friends, through communication, visits and shared experiences.

  • Build a network of friends and acquaintances.

  • Be supported by an independent advocate, when necessary.

  • Be supported to keep healthy, through leading a healthy lifestyle and receiving regular health checks from professionals, and have the same opportunities to access health services and facilities as the rest of the community

  • Have their religious and cultural beliefs and wishes respected.
