Managers of Our Services

As a manager; whether it be of a registered service for people with learning disabilities, a day centre, an acquired brain injury unit, or any other type of service, your workday will be rewarding, stimulating and challenging. You will lead and support your team in providing personalised support and care to your service users. By helping them make informed choices about all aspects of their lives, you and your team will enable your service users to live more independently, become part of the community, and develop a network of friends and acquaintances. You will have complete responsibility for the management of the service, including budgets, care issues and staff management.

The team you manage will support people in their daily lives. This means that you will be responsible for the management of all aspects of care plans as well as the performance of your team.

You will be supporting your team members to:

  • Develop individually tailored care plans with each service user

  • Continually improve their professional knowledge, skills and competence through supervision, support and appraisal

  • Promote the service and develop positive relations with the local community

  • Ensure that service users have an up-to-date knowledge of local facilities and resources available

  • Make best use of your budget to enhance the lives of the service users

  • Continuously improve the environment for the service users

You will be responsible for the leadership, motivation and development of your staff, who may spend large parts of their day working one-to-one with service users. Some service users may at times present challenges; Voyage employs a team of behavioural therapists who develop strategies to help staff teams work positively with such people.
